How the Siphon Works

This is a smart dry siphon. Condensate is released from your MVHR unit and needs to be drained through the condensate outlet. Traditional siphons use water to create an odor seal, but what happens if that water evaporates? Sewer gases can then enter your house.

The Renson dry siphon is different: it uses a mechanical seal that automatically closes when there is no water (condensate) present in the drain. This means that whether your unit is running at full speed, or if the system is turned off for a long time and the water evaporates: the seal remains closed.
