Replacing Brink filters

It is recommended that you change your Brink MVHR filters twice a year. In between, you can carefully remove dust. You can replace the Brink filters yourself, but be sure to install the new MVHR filters in the same way as the old ones. Need help or advice? Please contact Intovent and we will be happy to help.

MVHR filters and ISO 16890

To ensure proper operation, air filters must meet specific requirements. For a long time, these were laid down in European standard EN779:2012. In it, the filter class was indicated by the letters G, M and F. The filter class refers to the size of the particles that are filtered. Since 2017, ISO 16890 has been in force. In this norm there are four filter classes named:

ISO Coarse: standard MVHR filter. 80-90% of particles larger than 10 µm are filtered (coarse dust, pollen and hair).
ISO ePM1: MVHR filters suitable for fine dust < 1 µm.
ISO ePM2,5: MVHR filters suitable for fine dust < 2.5 µm.
ISO ePM10: MVHR filters suitable for fine dust < 10 µm.

Old and new filter standard

The ISO 16890 standard has brought more uniformity to the classification of air filters. The introduction of a new standard is usually a gradual process. This is why many MVHR filters still carry the old filter class designations. For your convenience, we have put the old and new standards side by side.
